LOTify by OnLine Data

The new traceability platform against the smuggling of alcoholic beverages, which is expected to be a major weapon in the hands of the country’s audit authorities, bears a Greek signature and was developed by OnLine Data.

LOTify is an innovative, easy-to-use platform that helps identify the suspected and illegally traded alcoholic beverages in the Greek territory. LOTify is an integrated digital platform created by OnLine Data on behalf of the Hellenic Association of Drinks Distributors (ENEAP) and the Greek Federation of Spirits Producers (S.E.A.O.P.).

With the use of LOTify, the audit authorities, the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (IAPR), the Financial & Economic Crime Unit (SDOE), etc. will be able to validate during their controls the legality of each bottle and identify suspicion of illicit trafficking.

LOTify launches its pilot implementation with 80% of producers and importers being already registered in the platform and the target is to extend to the small producers as well.

According to Nicholas Rodopoulos, Chairman & CEO of OnLine Data, “The development of LOTify is a great effort from our project team that took over this specific project, as the goal was to create a cutting edge tool for the IT sector, which will be a substantial help for the control authorities, not only for the recording of the smuggling of beverages, but mainly for the citizens’ health, who often do not know what they are consuming at the entertainment centers. LOTify was developed based on the market experience on smuggling. This is the first time in Greece that the private and the public sector are collaborating, with a common vision of combating the illicit smuggling of goods and supporting the legitimate and healthy entrepreneurship “.

As a first step, during the pilot implementation of the LOTify platform, 200 IAPR auditors will be trained and certified, in order to use the platform in their audit work.

The LOTify platform was given free of charge by the Hellenic Association of Drinks Distributors (ENEAP) and the Greek Federation of Spirits Producers (S.E.A.O.P.) to the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (IAPR) and the Ministry of Finance and was presented at a special event at the customs office of “Eleftherios Venizelos”, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Finance- Katerina Papanatsiou, the IAPR Governor- George Pitsilis, the Special Secretary of SDOE-Stavros Thomadakis, the President of the ENEAP-Isidoros Revah and the President of SEAOP Nikos Kalogiannis.
